Description of obverse and reverse
Obverse: lower part – regular Cook Islands coat of arms. Above –writing of series – name “Hanseatic League”. The map of Europe with dots representing the cities of the series and a Hansa ship in the north sea.
Reverse: At the back – a historical view of Kaliningrad. On the right – the newly built cathedral Christ the Savior. On the left – the statue with partly bronze plating. At the top – writing “TEUTONIC CITY” as it was founded by the Teutonic knights. Below this – the coat of arms of Kaliningrad and writing of the city name “Kaliningrad and Köningsberg”, at the bottom – the year date “2010”.
A brief annotation
The coin belongs to the Hanseatic league series. The Hanseatic league was a trading organization in northern Europe. This series represent one city of each country that has somehow participated in this series. This coin is dedicated to Kaliningrad formerly known as Koeningsberg.
