Spanish Royal Mint

The obverse portrays the effigy of His Majesty King Juan Carlos. The reverse bears a central depiction of a column with interlaced lines symbolizing a coming together of flags. The area above this features the logo created for the Spain/Belgium/Hungary team presidency, shaped with the lower-case letters "eu".

For the first six months of 2010 Spain undertook the Presidency of the EU Council of Ministers. Within the framework of the new system of rotating presidencies, Spain shares European Union objectives with Belgium and Hungary for the eighteen month period from 1st January 2010 to 30th June 2011.
