Description of obverse and reverse
The coin has the dodecahedron shape. Revers: the gilded image of the buckle in the form of two deers, “БҰҒЫЛАР. ӘШЕКЕЙЛЕР” and “BUCKLES. DEERS” – the name of the coin in Kazakh and in English; the heraldic spiral; two legends. The coin has got the shape of the dodecahedron.
Obverse: in the right sector there is an inscription, “500 ТЕҢГЕ” (500 Tenge) signifying the nominal value, the mintmark of the Kazakhstan Mint and the inscription “Ag 925 31,1gr.” specifying the metal which the coin is made of, its alloy and weight. In the left sector there is an image of four riding horsemen. Over the perimeter of the coin – the wide matted edging, on the circumference of which the hollowed inscription
is situated “ҚАЗАҚСТАН РЕСПУБЛИКАСЫ” in the official language
and “REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN” in English.
Reverse: In the central part there is an image of a fastener shaped like two deers. In the upper part on circumference there is an inscription “БҰҒЫЛАР. ӘШЕКЕЙЛЕР” in the official language and “BUCKLES. DEERS” in English, in the lower part there is a heraldic image of a spiral. Over the perimeter of the coin – the wide matted edging, on the circumference of which the hollowed inscription is situated “КӨШПЕНДІЛЕР АЛТЫНЫ” in the official language, “2010” is the year of mintage and an inscription “THE GOLD OF NOMADS” in English.
A brief annotation
The fasteners made of pure gold and shaped like deers were found in the ancient Zhalualy burial site on the territory of Semirechye, the item dated V – III centuries B.C.E.
