Description of obverse and reverse
Obverse: in the centre there is the emblem of the Bank of Russia (double-headed eagle with the dropping wings), below which is the semicircular inscription
"БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed with the circle of dots and inscriptions on the circumference: at the top – "One thousand roubles" ("ОДНА ТЫСЯЧА РУБЛЕЙ"), at the bottom on the left – metal and alloy, in the centre – the date of issue"2009 ", on the right – the content of chemically pure metal and the mintmark.
Reverse: on the left there are market scanes (a fragment of a miniature picture of the "Illuminated Compiled Chronicle" of the XVI century), on the right there are images of ancient coins, along the circumference an inscription "ИСТОРИЯ ДЕНЕЖНОГО ОБРАЩЕНИЯ РОССИИ" (History of the money circulation in Russia).
