The reverse design of the 2011 Working Dogs Beagle coin portrays an adult Beagle and a puppy in colour. The design also includes silhouettes of an airport, passengers and an aeroplane, as well as a decorative pattern of paw prints and the inscriptions "WORKING DOGS", ‘Beagle’ in Russian, and the weight and purity of the metal. Issued as legal tender of Tuvalu.
A brief annotation The Working Dogs coin program celebrates the endearing qualities and characteristics of each dog breed and their unique contribution to specific occupational fields. The Beagle is an intelligent and even-tempered dog which has a highly developed sense of smell. Therefore, they are often used as detector dogs in airports and quarantine centres around the world.
