A brief annotation Bohdan-Zinoviy Michailovich Khmelnitsky (1595 - 1657) - Hetman of Glories Zaporozhie grassroots army, military leader and statesman, the founder and ideological leader of the uprising of Zaporozhian Cossacks against the domination of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. As a result of the uprising, after a nine-year struggle, a new state formation was established - Zaporozhian Army, which became a part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (formally) and then a part of Russia and existed till the end of the XVIII century. The series of coins “Hetmans of Ukraine” represents the most vivid and powerful personalities, whose reign has left a significant mark in the historical development of Ukraine.
