Description of obverse and reverse The obverse depicts the coat of arms of the city and year of issue “2011”. The reverse depicts the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao - museum of modern and contemporary art located in Bilbao, Basque Country, Spain. One of the most admired works of contemporary architecture, the building has been hailed as a "signal moment in the architectural culture", because it represents "one of those rare moments when critics, academics, and the general public were all completely united about something."
A brief annotation The Royal Spanish Mint started 52-coin Series “Capitals of Spain”: In 2010 were launched coins: Almería, Huesca, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Santander, Ávila, Albacete, Barcelona, Ceuta, Melilla, Madrid.
