Description of obverse and reverse Obverse: on the top there is a small National Emblem of Ukraine, a semicircle inscription "НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ", at the bottom there is a face value – 100 ГРИВЕНЬ, on the left there is a name of the metal and its alloy – Au 900, and a net weight – 31,1g, the logo of the Mint of National Bank of Ukraine; on the right – the year of stamping 2009; in the center there is a fragment of an ancient building and signal bell, below – on the background of the Meander ornament – there are the ancient coins of Chersonese and a lighter (V – VI A.D.). Reverse: on the first plan there are remains of the ancient building of the Chersonese – the basil, on the second plan there is the Cathedral of St Grand Duke Vladimir built in the middle of XIX on the ruins of the medieval temple in which admittedly St. Grand Duke Vladimir was baptized and on the top of the coin there is a semicircle inscription "ХЕРСОНЕС ТАВРІЙСЬКИЙ".
