Description of obverse and reverse Obverse: It reproduces the central scene from the oil painting "The Spectre of Sex Appeal" (1934), which gives expression to Dali’s conflicts with the feminine sex. Reverse: It features a rendering of the central scene from the oil "The Temptation of St. Anthony" (1946), painted while Dali was living in the USA, and which is of particular significance because it marks the beginning of his later mystical phase that showed his predilection for religious themes.
